No Man's Land

Past the burning homes on the boulevard,
War is in progress while the bullets come down hard,
It was believed this would never happen,
Words spit, but the pistol spoke,
One dead soaked in blood,
While the other walks away clean,
Over, and over, hearing the shots,
The window shatters, the walls crumble,
The voices haunt you forever.

It's a hunt for the best shelter,
Only safe for a short while,
You'll either die or be running to the next,
Forever lies, or be covered in ...

The dust surrounding the field of vision,
It seems like yesterday everything was bright and sunny,
But light may never be seen again,
It's cold in the hearts and in the blood,
The flesh peeling, bodies pinned and bleeding out,
Seems like yesterday was far behind,
Buildings toppled, crumbling or bombed,
Wherever you run you're in no man's land,
The images haunt you forever.

It's a hunt for the best shelter,
Only safe for a short while,
You'll either die or be running to the next,
Forever lies, or be covered in ...

No more pills,
No more syringes,
No more images,
No more taste of skin,
No more, no more.
